What are some of your favorite things about being an accountant?

I love dealing with numbers and that it is relatable to a certain extent - money surrounds us daily, so it's easy to put myself in my client's shoes when working on their deliverables.

What was it that initially drew you to the accounting profession?

My mother was a CPA in the Dominican Republic, so I had an idea of what that was, but it wasn't until my junior year of high school that I took an accounting class and saw how naturally it came to me, especially compared to all my peers, I knew then, accounting was the profession for me.

Many business owners underestimate the importance of accounting. So tell us, why do you believe that accounting is so important for business owners?

Accounting impacts every single part of a business. The transactions occur where business owners make money - that's accounting. Transactions where the business owners have to spend money - that's accounting. Something impacting every part of a business is always important. Not to mention, accounting is needed to produce the statements needed for tax time, so in order to remain compliant year over year, accounting is necessary.

How does having a professional accountant benefit a business owner, versus doing bookkeeping/accounting tasks on their own?

The biggest benefit is that the business owner gets their time back to focus on what's most important to them, instead of wasting a lot of time feeling frustrated and confused while trying to work through everything. It's also nice to know the work is being done correctly and have someone else to bounce ideas/questions off of.

Tell us why you're excited to work with Ageras!

Im excited to work Ageras to grow my firm with ideal clients.
